THIS 1917 COTTAGE is located on St. Hubert’s Isle, one of a group of islands on Raquette Lake – some call “the loveliest of the five.” You will have the run of the entire three and a half acres – Flat Rock, Gazebo, Blueberry Peninsula – all but the main house.
Come and enjoy the beautiful scenery, crisp mountain air and gorgeous sunsets. You may choose to just relax during your island retreat – or take advantage of the many area attractions.
The church on the top right is only used once a year so there is plenty of time to explore the 1880 structure at your leisure. It was designed in the ‘stick style’ by Josiah Cleveland Cady, architect of the original Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. (Note the vertical strips of wood in the photo with the scalloped border above – all decorative rather than functional.)
- air conditioning
- electric heat
- washer & dryer (basement of main house)
- fully-equipped kitchen
- toaster oven
- charcoal grill
- picnic table
- sheets & towels
- hardwood floors
- swimming from the dock

You will need to bring or rent your own boat or party barge from a local marina – OR have Burke’s bring you over and use our canoe. Please bring bottled drinking water and your own provisions. And note it is rough terrain as is most of the Adirondacks.
The cottage has one bedroom with a single bed and bunk beds, living room with sofa bed, bathroom with shower as well as the kitchen with dining area that seats six. The cottage sleeps five. Click here for a list of local attractions.
After expenses (utilities) all rental income goes toward the preservation of this 1880 historical site. Thank you for your support.
